Sonna Puriyathu – Tamil Movie Review

The promotional activities for the film was perhaps a major reason behind drawing us into the theatres. Sonna Puriyathu starring Mirchi Shiva and Vasundhara in lead roles is a romantic comedy that has a lot of witty lines from the actor. Not to miss the fact that the very opening scene of this films keeps you on huge laughter as he croons the Hindi version of Rosaappu song from Suryavamsam.

Mirchi Shiva enjoys his life as a dubbing artist for Hollywood and other foreign films and has no plans to get married. He perceives it to be a trap that will spoil his entire life without any freedom. All he dreams is about is buying a Volkwagan car.

When his mother theatens him on going for a long pilgrimage as a penance to get his son married, he accepts to enter wedlock with a TV anchor Anjali (Vasundhara), who happens to be a calm and innocent girl, who is too religious. But as the time pass by, they come to know about each other’s true identity. As they plot plans to stop the marriage without the attention of their parents, they find themselves married to each other after a hard night party.

The film opens with a pleasant touch as it goes on with some lively moments. Mirchi Shiva’s witty one liners stands out as the major highlight of this film. His mannerisms and body language on pars contribute a lot to the humour elements. Vasundhara does her part well in the role of an urban girl. Manobala as the owner of matrimony web portal adds to the hilarious portions.

The technical details of this film could have been better for the music and cinematography doesn’t stand well to enhance the feeling.

On the whole, Sonna Puriyathu can be watched for the comedy elements of Mirchi Shiva, while with screenplay, it could have been yet more crispy.

Udhayanidhi’s next is with Kajal Agarwal

Kajal carries the unique aura of acting with all the leading actors. The actress who is currently busy with ‘Jilla’ has already signed her next, which will be with Udhayanidhi Stalin. Directed by Jagadesh, the film has been titled ‘Nanbendaa’.

Post her debut in Bollywood, with Chashme Buddoor, which also had Siddharth in a lead role, looks like fans can’t get enough of this beauty. Impressed with her efforts on the silver screen , she was also approached for her second project in B town very recently.

Priya Anand longs to play the lead role in a horror film

Pretty Priya Anand has finally started going places in Kollywood. The actress, who debuted in Tamil films opposite Jai in the forgettable Vaamanan, then starred in Nootrenbadhu and Pugaipadam but none of them did well at the box-office. Priya hit the jackpot when she got to pair up opposite Sivakarthikeyan in Dhanush’s Ethir Neechal which turned out to be a super-duper hit.

Priya now has Arima Nambi opposite Vikram Prabhu, Vai Raja Vai opposite Gautham and Vanakkam Chennai opposite Siva. Speaking to newsmen recently, she expressed her long-pending desire to play the lead role in a horror film. “Thankfully, I have hit a purple patch in Tamil films. I hope to keep the good work going and would love to make a name for myself in Kollywood as an actress of substance.

“Right from my childhood, I have feared the ‘unseen’ spirit; however, I would love to play the ‘spirit’ in a film. If any director prepares such a script and offers me the lead role in it, I’m ready to make necessary adjustments in my call-sheet diary to star in the film. Among the roles I have essayed so far in films, I feel I’m very close to my character in my upcoming film Vanakkam Chennai.

“I’m a jolly, carefree girl who does not unduly bother about anything. I always let the Almighty take care of my problems for me and then continue my sojourn in life and in films. I am conscious about maintaining a slim frame and follow my diet but have a go at it whenever I go to Hyderabad as the ‘Hyderabadi Biriyani’ is too tempting to miss out,” concludes Priya.

Ajith to perform own stunts on moving train for Siva’s film

Ajith is finally gearing up for the release of his Vishnuvardhan-directed film Aarambam. The shoot of his next film after Aarambam tentatively titled as Vinayagam Brothers had already commenced. It is directed by Siva, who made Karthi-Tamannaah super-duper hit Siruthai a couple of years ago. Siva has repeated Tamannaah again for this film, making it her first film opposite ‘Thala’. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director of the film.

Sources close to Siva reveal that the director is planning to shoot a daredevil stunt sequence which would be canned on top of a moving train. When he was told by Siva about it, Ajith had immediately told his director that he would love to perform his own stunts and not make use of a ‘body double’.

The stunt sequence would be one of the highlights of the film, it is further reported. The proposed sequence is to be shot on the rail-link between the States of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Formal permission had been sought from South-Eastern Railway to shoot the said sequence.

Ajith has already done stunts on air from a helicopter, on road with bikes and cars, on water with the Speed boats.

Now seems he does not even want Train stunts to be out of his resume . Ajith’s fans would only be hoping that their ‘Thala’ doesn’t aggravate his already injured leg by attempting such sequences.
